Question: Check If User is in Role - workflow activity

Mar 31, 2016 at 7:26 PM
In our CRM setup we have multiple business units and thus the same security role name is replicated in each Business Unit

Can this be used to check if the User running the workflow has the role based on the name? Based on your documentation we have to pick the Role from the lookup which should then match the exact role based on the Business Unit and Security Role

Can the check if user is in role check for a security role across different BU?

Hi DVora,
right now is not working like this, but I understand your point.
On the "AddRoleToUser" feature, I did like as "BU Insensitive", selecting one security role in any BU, and searching by the root parent role.

I think I need to change the "CheckIfUserisinRole" to work with Security Roles, but without the Business Units. I think if you have only one BU it works fine and easy, but if you have a lot of BU and a lot of users/teams in that BU it's complex.

Please stay tuned, because I'll try to add this feature this weekend ;)

kind regards!

Hi Dvora,
I can confirm that in my last release (today 1.0.18.3) is solved this issue.
Now, you must select the Security role from the "parent" Business Unit, and the I check if you have this role in any "child" Business Unit...

Thanks for your contribution! ;)
